7. Snow
Kamchatka is surrounded by seas which determines the climate of the peninsula. Powerful cyclones bring storm winds, plentiful snow and thaw. Western anti-cyclones bring sunny and frosty weather. Frequently appearing difference in temperatures from quite low up to almost zero significantly affects condition of snow in the mountains. Regardless the period of tour snow can by fluffy or crusty. That is why on route it is necessary to be prepared (morally and technically) for the soft and tough snow. |
